Concealed
is Joe's first solo show, was thru Feb 14th 2021 at the Griffin Museum of Photography in Winchester Mass
Webster defines concealed as "to place out of sight, to conceal evidence, carrying a concealed weapon, to prevent disclosure or recognition or conceal the truth". Joe's photographs of vintage purses and toy guns, act as a metaphor for the secrets we keep from each other and the fear in America right now.
Shiny Things
Scientists have found that our preference for shiny things is linked to our need for water. They believe that every person's preference for shininess has deep evolutionary roots and that we are attracted to things that serve a purpose for fulfilling our innate needs.
